Sometimes I get caught up in thinking that the task at hand is the work. That writing the blog or parenting the children or finishing the chore is the work. But when I’m only focused on the completion of things, I’m missing an opportunity.
My understanding of it is that the work isn’t the work—the work is the spiritual journey.
Can I take time to get quiet and ask for guidance to write something that someone else really needs to read?
Can I remember that being loving and setting a good example are truly the only things that matter when it comes to parenting?
Can I find peace in the process of doing the chore and not always just on the result?
My day is abundant with opportunities to connect and let go, but so often I confuse those opportunities with thinking that, when things don’t go as planned, I have to hold on even tighter.
