My Will or God’s Will? How to Get What I Want

Listen to the podcast

Recently I was asked, How do you know if you’re living God’s will or your own will?
In my experience, God’s will never requires force.

Hard work? Possibly.

Determination? Regularly.

Sadness? Often.

Patience? Always.

It seems, the more I force my plan in my time the deeper my hurt. I can get lost in a world where acceptance feels somehow so much scarier than the pain I’m tolerating in my own fight. But if I can muster the strength to allow life to emerge through the earth, rather than dirtying and often bloodying my hands to dig it up—God’s plan is always far more in line with my desires than I could have ever foreseen.

I would love for you to join me as I work to undo these old patterns and evolve to create a more serene and accepting existence. (And you should know that I still want to ear flick the little knuckleheads {this includes my husband} when they don’t rinse a dish before putting it in the dishwasher — always a work in progress.)
