After last week’s post Shake It Up, I was essentially bracing myself in anticipation of school coming to a close as if I were about to be hit by lightning. Unexpectedly though, I was struck by a force of a completely different variety—Gratitude. I think God wants me to go all in on gratitude this summer.
Last Friday I started a 70-day gratitude challenge. For the 70 days of summer (yes, I’m counting), I’m going to write down (an important part of the practice) five things I’m grateful for every day. And I’m going to take the suggestion to come up with new things every day.
When I shake up my schedule, one thing that can overwhelm me is the thought of adding things to my day. Because of this, I can be reluctant to invite even positive things into my life. My hope is that focussing on everything that’s going right with my day, rather than focussing on everything that’s not, will yield worthwhile dividends. Gratitude, I’m going all in, “Mama needs a new attitude.”
